Let’s take a dive into AK’s new Carbon Plus masts, fuselages, and stabilizers.
Fuselage lengths, tail selection, and mast lengths play a key role in the riding experience of your foil. AK’s Modular Hydrofoil Platform is open to 3 rear fuselage length options, 4 trimmable stabilizers, along with the various mast length options. It all comes down to user preference, and we have covered the bases with the components available.
Carbon Plus Aerocore Mast
Stiffness rating of 10/10
The new ultra stiff Carbon Plus Aerocore masts make use of ultra high modulus carbon to provide incredible lightweight performance.
Our Carbon Plus mast makes use of expanded epoxy cores allowing us to generate improved stiffness with the internal carbon rib geometry. Combined with our Ultra High Modulus Carbon, this lightweight mast boasts exceptional stiffness and torsional flex characteristics.
The ultra high modulus Carbon Plus masts push the boundaries of flex and torsional stiffness. Each mast we have developed has undergone in depth R&D to enable us to achieve the desired stiffness and flex characteristics. Maintaining the 14mm mast thickness, we have been able to reduce the weight with the Aerocore construction, while improving stiffness through layup and Ultra High Modulus Carbon specifications.

TaperLock Mast to Fuselage Connection
The new TaperLock mast to fuselage connection cancels out any play between the components for a firm fit and direct feedback and drive.
Carbon Rear Fuselages
AK’s rear fuselages are available in 3 sizes:
26.5cm
Short Fuselage.
31.5cm
Mid-Length Fuselage.
36.5cm
Long Fuselage.
Fitting a shorter fuselage will provide high maneuverability and more efficient pumping, with its shorter cadence, compared to the 36.5cm fuselage. The longer effective cadence of the 36.5cm fuselage provides a more stable platform, for general freeride use and progression. Further rider tuning will enable the foil to be pushed to its peak performance based on the conditions at hand.
Stabilizers
Stabilizer selection plays a key role in the riding experience of your foil. AK’s new G10 rear trimmable stabilizers are available in 4 sizes:
160, 180, 200, and 220cm2
Our G10 stabilizers have been optimized for efficiency and control. The increased stiffness will have you feeling drive off every pump.
We have tuned our complete setups to what we feel is a good balance of technical performance and intuitive ease. The smaller size foils are shipped with the 160 – 180 G10 tail, and bigger foils are shipped with 200-220 G10 tails.
