As watermen, we’re on the never-ending search for the perfect session. This is why we spend our time chasing wind, flat water, and waves, as we push the limits of ourselves and our gear.
Our mission is to keep you on the water for longer, and our product will have you up and riding whether the surf is flat, wind is up, or it’s 6ft and barrelling. No matter what the conditions are – we’ve got something for the purist, and like us, the multi-sport enthusiast.

Introducing the Plasma, Tracer, and Trek collections.
Foiling has opened up the playground and allowed us to utilize the smallest waves, flattest lakes, and light wind conditions to bring a new sensation to performance surfing. Our love for the sport has inspired a range of foils and boards suitable for crossover use in surf, wake, pump, and wind sports.
The modular foil platform considers the evolution in foiling to allow riders to customize their setup. From the very first ride and lower speed performance to the most technical riding abilities with longer masts and higher speed wings, the modular foil platform is designed to meet the needs of riders at every level across different sports.
All wings, masts, fuselages, and base plates are interchangeable, without compromising the ease of assembly and robustness of the overall foil platform.

Designed with an emphasis on durability and comfort, the AK binding range covers all kite and wake riding disciplines. From the highly durable and lightweight Ether boot, binding, and foot straps, to the ease of use and comfort of the Static boot and Element binding, the collection offers ergonomic comfort and support that will have you riding longer and shredding harder.
The all-new Boost binding features simplicity, comfort, and durability at its finest. With a single Velcro closure, the strap is quick and easy to tighten or loosen for various foot sizes, with or without booties. The single-density footbed forms a sturdy but soft feel underfoot. The Boost offers two size options to fit the smallest to the largest foot. The baseplate is pre-curved to create a tensioned connection to your board, making the edge of the binding harder to lift, avoiding debris and kite line catches.

Whether you’re getting into the sport, racing, or hitting features, you’ve got to look after yourself, and safety gear is an important part of your quiver. You can’t control the conditions, but you can prepare for them, and the CE Certified Riot helmet and CE Floatation Vest have got you covered.
The all-new Riot impact vest features foam shock panels in a highly flexible package, providing added protection to the upper back and rib cage, making it perfect for wake, kiting, and foil surfing. Working in conjunction with the ergonomic panel layout, the side-entry zip closure removes the bulk from the chest panel for added flexibility and a snug fit.

AK is a watersports brand from Cape Town, producing technical components and accessories built for comfort, durability, and performance.
We are all masters of our own desire, in search of the perfect day, place, and moment to unleash our energy. This is why we spend our time chasing wind and waves, pushing the limits of ourselves, and our gear. Our aim is to create products that become an extension of ourselves, progressively integrating our bodies into the elements, until we work as one.
AK, part of the Starboard Group, was initiated by the creative and technical minds behind the Solar Station Design company in Cape Town; a small collective of creators and innovators that have been crafting products for the surf, wake and wind sports industry for 25 years. We work to forge a new path in high performance, durable, and essential design that resonates with a crew of like-minded riders.
The first products were developed in 2018 by Clinton Filen, Graham Wiles, and Dean Freedberg, along with a few additions in more recent years, like Dave Kay, and Craig Tompkins.
In 2019, South African surfer Dale Staples, Hawaiian waterman Zane Schweitzer, Canadian Kiteboarding Champion Jack Reider, and Spanish champ Kiko Roig Torres, formed the nucleus of the early team riders. Since then, we’ve formed a tight-knit collective of free surfers, kiters, and foil riders who have all helped drive the brand forward.
